Onagraceae

Low growing and highly fragrant, Dune evening primrose, Oenothera deltoides, is one of the stars of the desert spring. In Borrego Springs, look for it in the north Borrego Valley along Henderson Canyon Road or in Coyote Canyon. Elsewhere, look for it in sandy fields and washes, often by the side of the road, often in company with Desert Sand-Verbena and Desert-Sunflower. Best viewed in late afternoon or early morning.
