California Evening-Primrose, Oenothera californica ssp. californica

California Evening-Primrose is the transition zone cousin of the Dune Evening-Primrose of the desert. Its flowers are slightly smaller and show more red and pink coloring than the desert species. Look for it in the mountains in late spring and early summer.
