On a day when you are walking mountain trails, looking at all the greenery, some bright red flowers may get your attention. Looking closely, you may note a similarity between the shape of these flowers and that of lupines. Indeed, both are Fabaceae, members of the Pea Family.

You won't find this plant in the desert, but you will consider yourself lucky if you find it in the mountains above the desert. These photos were taken on Bucksnort Mountain below Combs Peak.
