The Rocky Ground of Yuha Basin which Anza Called St. Rose of the Rocks
When the Anza expeditions made their arduous journeys from Sonora to California, they crossed the Colorado River near Yuma and went southwest into what is now Mexico, entering California around the west side of Mount Signal. In their search for water, the party was led to a well by a pair of Kumeyaay.
