The guidebooks on Coyote Creek talk about First Crossing, Second Crossing, and Third Crossing. State park signs mark these spots. They are north of Borrego Springs.

This can be misleading. After a rain, First Crossing could be the second or third place where you could get your wheels wet, or become stuck in mud. If you drive, be careful of wet spots. If you aren't sure, stop your car and get out and take a look.

Better yet, park your car and walk along the creek bed, looking for animal tracks in the wet sand.
