Clouds Over the Pacific Crest Trail in San Felipe Valley
The Pacific Crest Trail leaves the Laguna Mountains and comes downhill to Rodriguez Canyon west of Grapevine Mountain. It crosses Highway 78 at Scissors Crossing and makes a perhaps surprisingly long jaunt in and out of canyons and around hills, finally emerging at County Road S-22.
From here it continues to Warner Springs and then winds its way into the Bucksnort Mountains past Combs Peak, at 6,193 feet the highest point in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It goes down Tule Canyon, crosses Nance Canyon and leaves the state Park at Table Mountain.
