Sweetbush

Not the most attractive plant in the desert, but wait until you smell it. You'll see why butterflies fuss over it. Up to three feet tall and three feet wide. Look for them in Culp Valley, on Alcoholic Pass, and in other sandy spots. Family: Sunflower.
