The ABDNHA Borrego Desert Nature Center is proud to offer limited-edition serigraph prints by the late Henry R. Mockel. These attractive prints are of favorite desert blossoms. Provided in 16x20-inch mats, the prints are ready for framing and will enhance any desert lover's home or office.

The son of a Berlin publisher, Mockel came to the U.S. in 1923 and studied at Grand Central School of Fine Arts in New York City. At the time of his death, he lived in Twenty-nine Palms, California.

Mockel's work has been displayed in the Blaksley Library of the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden, the Old Schoolhouse Museum of the Twenty-Nine Palms Historical Society, the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley,the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Georgetown University Libraries in Washington, D.C., and the Print Club of Rochester, New York.

He and his wife Beverly Mockel co-authored Mockel's Desert Flower Notebook, a botanical study of various desert flora with over 160 photos and color and black & white illustrations. In 1968 they produced a book called Hot Air from the Desert; Recollections of the Northeast and Southwest, with colored illustrations and line drawings.
