ABDNHA: WHAT WE DO IN THE DESERT

The classes, lectures, desert tours, and photographs posted on our site are in partial fulfillment of our mission to further public enjoyment and understanding of the desert through educational endeavors.

WHAT WE FEEL ABOUT THE DESERT

We feel strongly about providing services to as many people as possible, and strive to keep our basic membership and program fees at an affordable level for most.

WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US IN GIVING BACK

As we celebrate the 39th anniversary (1971-2010) of the formation of ABDNHA as a nonprofit organization, we invite you to join with our 2,000 members, helping to give back something for all that the desert has meant to you, and encouraging appreciation of this unique region in Southern California.

YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED

There are projects and publications awaiting support at all levels. We are a self-supporting organization, dependant upon revenue generated through membership dues, book sales, and tax-deducible contributions.

OUR FUTURE PLANS

Thanks to the tax-deductible gifts from members, friends, and a variety of organizations, we have a great start for funding our new Desert Nature Center and Museum.

Land at the center of Borrego Springs, precisely the north quadrant off Christmas Circle, was primarily donated as tax-deductible gifts by the owners, and ABDNHA purchased additional parcels. Our next step is to consolidate the parcels into one lot.
